What We Believe

We believe . . .

. . . the Bible (Old and New Testaments) to be the Divinely inspired word of God.

. . . in the One God who exists eternally and is known in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

. . . that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man.

. . . He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.

. . . in His atoning death on the cross, whereby His shed blood satisfied for our sins.

. . . in His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of God and in His personal return in power and glory.

. . . that the Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration whereby men and women are led to salvation.

. . . that the indwelling power and fullness of the Holy Spirit enables us to live a godly life in this present world.

. . . that all persons will be held accountable by God for the way they lived their lives and that those who are in Christ will be received into God’s glory because of His grace.

. . . that the calling of the Church is to bear witness to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ in both our words and our deeds. We are called to be disciples of Christ, obeying His commands and then, as disciples, we are sent into the world to glorify God in every area of our lives, and to bring others to submission to the Lordship of Christ, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

As a church, we seek to obey the Great Commission:

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)

along with the Great Commandment:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37&39)

We strive to be obedient to this commission and commandment with the assurance that Christ is with us, even to the end of the age.

We also hold to the classic Christian doctrines that say we are all “conceived in sin” and are in need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ’s death on the cross is the atonement for our sins and when Christ becomes Lord and Savior we receive new life in Him. We believe that each Christian is “gifted” by the Holy Spirit for ministry.
